Mother Nature has always been a great source of inspiration. Artist, since the age of reason, have used her to create masterpieces. Something about nature brings about a heighten awareness to the artist and great appreciation to the masses. A great landscape painter will be able to transport the viewer of his work to his landscape subject and let the subject feel the season of which the painting was painted.

A landscape painter can capture the essence of the nature/subject. If his nature inspiration makes him feel sad, then his landscape painting should capture this sadness. Conversely, if the subject makes him feel giggly inside, this also should be captured in his work. A good landscape painting is like a good postcard. The picture will show me where it is and the text at the back will make me feel how great it is to be there.
