Different ways of Using the Pillow

Pillows are meant to cradle our neck and head for a comfortable sleep. People look for different qualities in their pillows. They choose from a soft, medium or firm feel. There are those who like their pillow to conform to the shape of their body and be moldable. A memory foam pillow will be their choice. For those who want a pliable support for their head, a king down pillow will be ideal.

Pillows are also chosen based on how a person sleeps. Stomach sleepers put a pillow under their stomach and this takes stress off the lower back and neck. People who sleep on their side may use one or two pillows under the head and neck. They better make sure that the cervical spine is straight and elongated. Most of us sleep on our backs. This opens up the lungs which unfortunately results in snoring. A pillow under the head and another under the knees will relieve pressure on the lower back.
