What is Thread Count?

Thread count is the amount of horizontal and vertical threads in one square inch of fabric. High-quality sheets have at least 180 threads per square inch and are called cotton percale. The higher the thread count, the softer the “hand” or feel of the sheet, and the additional pill-resistant it is. The standard and feel of a sheet depends on the fiber the material is created from and the quantity of threads woven per inch. Highest thread count sheets are more expensive but they make up for it in terms of durability and better feel.

There are many kinds of materials for bed sheets that are being offered in the market but one thing remains. People are buying 100% cotton sheets. They are choosing brands with high thread counts. They want them made from organically grown materials. I guess they have discovered the advantages that these products offer.
