Ways to Clean a Glass Vase
Small and medium vases are great to adorn home interiors. They are used to hold fresh cut flowers that adorn console tables in the dining room, center tables in the living room and counters in the bathroom. A clear glass vase is ideal for holding fresh flowers. The transparent material shows off carefully cut stems that are artful in themselves. Glass vases are also available in bold and pastel colors.
The problem with a glass vase or any vase used to hold water for fresh flowers is that they develop grime and water lines. A beautiful transparent glass vase can easily turn ugly after a few days holding a bunch of fresh plants or flowers. Keeping them clean is a challenge and there are several options that will make it possible. Mix 1/3 cup salt and 2 tablespoons vinegar to form a paste. Spread it inside the vase using your fingers or a brush. Let it sit for 20 minutes, scrub, rinse with water and let dry. You can also fill the vase with ammonia and let it stand overnight. Pour out the ammonia in the morning and rinse with water.
