My wife and I are of Chinese descent. It is a custom in China to receive fine China during weddings. My wife and I decided against it. We decided to get colorful dishes that are made of pottery. To us fine China are the dishes used by our parents. Pottery platters and dishes are more colorful and pleasant to look at.

There are many advantages to getting pottery platters and dishes. First, to my wife and I, they are more beautiful. It’s so nice to eat using colorful dishes. Second, they are cheaper than fine China. You can break a couple and it won’t hurt your pocket. Next, any food that you put in it will surely look more appetizing. Best of all, most pottery platters are microwave, oven and dishwasher safe.
