Products of the Art Deco Movement
Art Deco was a popular movement in art design sometime around 1925 to the early 1940s. It encompassed a whole range of disciplines including architecture, industrial design, interior design and decorative arts. Its popularity was brought about because people then looked at art deco as elegant, glamorous, functional and modern. It was also considered an opulent style brought about by a counter reaction to the forced austerity imposed by the war. This particular art design manifested itself in almost everything – buildings, bridges, clothing, and consumer products.
The style was commonly used in products such as furniture, china, lamps, jewelry and more. Art deco vases are common in homes even today. The really valuable ones are antique pieces. An example is this vintage 1930s art deco green glass hand painted vase. It is a delightful vintage art deco that will add a touch of class to your home. It is perfect just standing on its own or with a bunch of flowers to display.
