The Challenge of Growing Topiary
It is amazing what manufacturers have come up with in terms of artificial plants. There is the grape ivy arrangement that people place on top of armoires and cabinets. They can be arranged to give the illusion of actual vines clinging to the top of the furniture. There are ferns and grass hanging from beautiful pottery pieces. What I like most are silk topiaries in different forms and shapes.
Growing living indoor plants can be a big challenge. You have to find the exact location for them – one that will provide just the right amount of sunlight. You also need to feed and water them regularly. Imagine taking care of a real topiary. You have to trim every so often so they will keep their shape. After a while, they will not be as pretty as when you brought them home.
