replacement windows
Some DIY jobs require skills that most people don’t have. Putting up replacement windows, for example, entail some knowledge of carpentry and home remodeling experience. Sure, you can buy ready to install windows from your construction material supplier. The process however, requires more than plugging it into an open hole. The first step of removing the old window alone is by itself already a daunting proposition.
If you can afford it, it is better to hire a professional. Even so, you should at least know the basic steps involved so that you know when the job is progressing in the right direction. After removing the sash and jamb liners, it is ready to be prepped, sanded and painted. You can then prepare it for insulation. Spray in foam and caulk openings for a tight insulation. You are now ready to install replacement windows. Finish up by caulking and painting any gaps.
