unique wine glasses
Wine glasses are almost always made of glass. While fused or cut glass is elegant, they often interfere with the flavor or the wine. Blown glasses are preferred because they have thinner lip. High quality wine glasses are often made of lead crystal which has the aesthetic advantage of light refraction. Wine glasses are generally clear, the better to appreciate the color of the wine.
The structure of the wine glass consists of a bowl, stem and foot. The proper way to drink from the wine glass, especially when drinking white or otherwise chilled wine, is to grasp it by the stem and drink. The purpose of this is so the temperature of the wine is not affected when holding the glass. The shape of the glass is also important as it concentrates the aroma or bouquet as wine lovers would call the flavor of the wine. The shape of the wine glass is very traditional but there are innovations that make unique wine glasses stand out, such as this particular design that allows the neck of a wine bottle to interact directly with the bowl because it has a notch that will perfectly fit the neck of the bottle. Wine can be poured smoothly while eliminating splashing, spilling or dripping.
