Benefits of Drying Food
One of the best ways to preserve the essential vitamins, minerals, and enzymes of fruits and vegetables is through food dehydrating. This is also ideal for preserving a hefty harvest to stock up one’s pantry for the cooler months. When fresh foods are out of season, they become more expensive. Dehydrated foods are great and affordable alternatives.
There are several methods to dry foods. Some people utilize warm air that comes from a commercial food dehydrator. Others prefer to do sun or solar drying while some individuals do oven drying. Whatever means you use, the important thing to remember is that food needs to be dried effectively to prevent bacteria and microorganisms from surviving in the food.
