Impressionism is one of my favorite genres of painted artwork; the ability to transform a tangible existence with your own interpretations, maintaining its original parameters, yet making the representation your own. Many classic artists of the past experienced a great break through with impressionism; such as Monet, Manet, Degas and Van Gogh.
Focusing on the brilliant work of Claude Monet, you would discover that his artwork consisted primarily of landscape paintings. From the gardens outside his countryside house in France he would draw inspiration to create some of the finest works of art our world has ever known.

Have you ever seen the commercial for lamps that turn on and off with a simple, double clap? This innovative idea is great for people who are afraid of the dark or elderly people who can hardly see as it is and have trouble navigating there way in a dark room to turn on the light. I purchased the clap lighting system for myself, after being amazed by many infomercials I had seen.
Unfortunately, the system didn’t last very long in my house because, although I found it very useful, the constant noise of the clapping drove my poor dog crazy. She would bark her head off and run in circles every time she witnessed the loud boom of clapping accompanied by the lights turning on and off. Then a friend suggested I look into touch lamps, which offer the same convenience of easy on-off lighting in a way that didn’t involve loud noises. So I bought one, and wow was it great; soon my entire house was filled with these miracle lamps.

Nowadays, people use incense for a variety of reasons. Burning incense, which was once considered a strictly religious ritual, has also become a way to give a warm, musky scent to a room. Some people prefer the scent of incense because it makes the atmosphere less stiff and more welcoming. This makes a formal event more intimate and personal.
Because of the growing popularity of incense as a scent, incense ash catchers are also more commonly seen. They are both decorative and functional. Some are made of glass while others are made of wood or clay. There are a variety of designs available in the market that can match any room.

Newly built living spaces in the city tend to be small in size. To be close to where people work or where their children go to school, they suffer the inconvenience of small spaces. This will save them travel time and expense. It makes daily living less stressful. But if we think that this is a pitiful way to live, we should think twice.
Because of the small space, there is more planning that takes place. Needs are analyzed and rooms are designed accordingly. Rooms can be turned into multi use places. Decorating accessories are limited but well chosen. Cushions in beautiful fabric and multi-colored Tiffany table lamps can add the necessary color to make a lively, albeit small, space.

Accent lamps are great additions to any home. They provide localized lighting that focus on certain parts of the home. One of its more common uses are in foyers where they can provide defused lighting as people enter the home and move into the more fully lighted receiving area. They are also used in narrow hallways and stairways. Accent lamps are installed for the light that they provide as well as to add a decorative touch in these areas.
Because of their decorative function, we see accent lamps in all sorts of designs. There are the classic designs that are simple and yet elegant. There are also ultra modern pieces that can be considered as art pieces. Tiffany style accent lamps are still very much in demand in spite of being around for decades. It is amazing how manufacturers are able to adapt this style to modern surroundings.

Tea lights are usually sold encased in thin metal containers. They are fragile and very ordinary looking. Tealight candle holders are used to hide the metal casing and to provide a more appealing look. Tealight candle holders come in various shapes and colors. They are often small; just the right size for the tiny lights.
Candle holders are made of various materials. Popularly used are glass, metal and ceramic; materials that can be made into pretty designs and which will not burn. Aside from being placed in beautiful containers tea lights are made even more appealing by the addition of fragrances. Several lights are also burned together to make a more dramatic impact. These are inexpensive ways of beautifying a room and creating a romantic ambience.

Maybe you’d prefer to have a hammock that is more like a chair. A hammock swing is usually made of lightweight material. Rather than being attached to a tree or a pole from two ends, a hammock swing usually hangs from one end. A good place for this is under a tree or on the back porch. It is a good place to spend an afternoon reading or napping.
Hammocks have evolved from the plain cloth gathered on each end and tied to poles or tree trunks. Features have been added to enhance its stability, comfort and aesthetics. There are hammocks made of material that are hand woven so as to hug the body. Some models have headrests and footrests that will stay in place. The best ones are those strong and wide enough to hold a couple or even a family.

There is no question about the benefits that we can get from down bedding. We should take note of a few things to ensure that we are buying one that will provide the best service and last long enough so we get our money’s worth. Down comforter sets are not exactly cheap. By making the right investment now, we can enjoy better features. We can also save money in the long term.
Two important elements that should be considered are the fabric thread count and the fill power. Look for fabric that is natural and has at least 300 thread counts. Egyptian cotton will meet these requirements. You can also opt for hypo-allergenic qualities in your fabric. Choosing the right amount of fill is the second important thing to do. It will provide the right kind of softness and warmth that you need.

The word landscape was first recognized during the 17th century. It came from the Dutch word landschap which means a patch of cultivated ground. It was only later that landscape was connected to images and landscape art was born. The term covers the depiction of natural sceneries.
Landscape paintings usually show mountains, trees, rivers, valleys, and forests. The main subject is a wide view with elements arranged in a coherent composition. Sky and weather are the ones that are almost always included in many landscape paintings.
